Job Overview

As a Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment. Your responsibilities include leading and guiding development teams, ensuring project milestones are met within budget and timeline constraints, and implementing quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality software products. You will engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and provide progress updates, while also identifying and mitigating potential risks. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and methodologies, conduct performance evaluations for team members, and support the resolution of technical or operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development lifecycle of software projects, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Provide leadership and guidance to development teams, fostering a collaborative and highperforming work environment.
• Contribute to the strategic planning process by providing insights and recommendations on technology adoption, project prioritization, and resource allocation.
• Allocate resources effectively to ensure project milestones are met within budget and timeline constraints.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and address concerns or feedback.
• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Conduct performance evaluations for development team members, providing feedback and coaching to support their professional growth.
• Assist in the development of development proposals, statements of work, and other development-related documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of development activities.
• Support the Development team in resolving technical or operational challenges.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field such as Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Ideal candidate should have an overall experience of 8+ years in software development, with a minimum of 3+ years in a management role.
• Proficient in software development methodologies and practices, including front-end and back-end development frameworks, cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools for planning, scheduling, and tracking projects.
• Possess good understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and the ability to apply them appropriately.
