Summary

The IT Business Analyst role is responsible for driving IT solutions by analyzing product processes, managing development, and documenting end user requirements. This includes a detailed understanding of products to support reported issues and development of new technology. The role works directly with stakeholders such as, account managers, support team, clients, developers, and others. Providing analysis of IT processes, systems, and products for improvements.



Duties / Responsibilities
  • Communicating and collaborating with project stakeholders to review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user requirements.
  • Managing and overseeing IT solutions documentation and workflows.
  • Managing creation and intake of IT tickets. Including troubleshooting, providing details to developer(s), and monitoring the lifecycle of IT tickets.
  • Overseeing and improving Quality Assurance (QA) of technology development processes.
  • Creating epic, feature, and user stories in ticketing system(s) (e.g., Jira, FreshDesk, etc.), and manage the process of tickets.
  • Writing detailed Acceptance Criteria (AC) of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications/programs.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Perform QA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university in a related field.


Experience
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Agile/Scrum experience is preferred.


License / Certification

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of networks, databases, and other technology.
  • Understanding and ability to run SQL queries.
  • Works with customers daily to define project scope and objectives.
  • Analyze business and technical processes to help formulate effective solutions.
  • Ability to maintain current project documentation and updating as necessary
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Proficiency with Atlassian Tools including Jira and Confluence is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate full-cycle accounting for the division, including monthly journal entries, financial statement package, variance analysis, reconciliations and required reporting.
  • Oversee the processes including but not limited to the divisional accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue and intercompany transactions.
  • Provide operational and financial support and analysis for the management team and the corporate head office.
  • Prepare and assist in the annual business plan and budget, and monthly and quarterly forecast.
  • Assist the divisional management team in budget control, cost management, cost/benefit analysis, metrics and KPIs, pricing models, and provide financial information and recommendations.
  • Ensure group’s compliance with applicable tax deductions, remittances, and reporting.
  • Supervise and coach the junior Finance & Accounting team members
  • Responsible for liaison with all government departments including the Corporation, etc.
  • Assist the CFO, Accounting Head, and Controller with other duties as assigned.
  • Interacts effectively with non-financial personnel, and with internal and external auditors
  • Responsible for ledger consolidated reporting on a monthly basis, with specific focus on Group reporting each quarter

Ideal Candidate:
  • CPA/CA professional qualification
  • 10 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance management, Controllership or FP&A (experience in SaaS is an asset)
  • Oracle NetSuite/QuickBooks experience (an asset)
  • Experience managing multiple teams/entities and reporting on a consolidated level
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel
